August Monday in Anguilla

Masses in Sandy Ground

Sandy Ground draws masses to celebrate August Monday

August Monday marks what is arguably the #1 beach party in the Caribbean. Yesterday, locals and visitors alike took to the streets in the Valley at 4:30am to dance their way down to Sandy Ground for J’ouvert.  Boats from Anguilla and neighboring islands tied up to enjoy a day of dancing, BBQ and never-ending rum punch as music continued into the evening.

Our boat, Relentless, was tied up in Sandy Ground with a particularly great vantage point. Our guests joined us throughout the day to take in a healthy dose of the island’s festivities while listening to Caribbean beats. Naturally, many of our guests were sporting their Frangipani t-shirts to support De Tree and Miss Anguilla 2013 hopeful, Amasha Richards. {We’ll be there on Thursday to cheer her on as she competes for the title!}
